Hannah & Valdemar Oct 13, 2018
How it all began
"Our story began at Peach County High School in 9th grade. It was love at first sight. He was the outgoing guy and I was the shy girl. We dated for 9 years before we finally got married."
How did Valdemar pop the question?
"It was our 8 year anniversary, I was heading out the door to go to work. He stopped me and told me to close my eyes so he can go get my gift from him. When he told me to open my eyes again, he was on one knee and asked me to marry him."
Share something fun or special about your wedding planning phase.
"During my wedding planning, a decorator I had chosen decided to take my money and provide nothing for my wedding. After the fact, more and more things came back about her doing this to other weddings. A family friend stepped in and took over the decorations and I couldn't have had a more beautiful wedding if it wasn't for Barbara Johnson and Peggy Keller."
Tell us about your wedding day. What was your favorite part? Would you do anything differently? What would you share with people planning their day?
"My favorite part of my wedding day was having our family come together and gather in one place. We had family come in from Virginia, Texas, Mexico, and local to celebrate our marriage. Do not stress on the small things, celebrate with the people you are with."
If you did First Look, First Touch, First Talk, etc. tell us about it. Would you recommend it to others?
"I did a first with my dad. He had health issues through 2018. He went through so much and during our first look, he broke down and cried saying everything that he had went through was worth having this moment."
How was your experience at The Wedding Barn at L'Horne? Is there anything you would change? What was your favorite part of having your special day with us?
"The Wedding Barn at L'Horne was the first venue we decided to look at for our wedding. We knew immediately that we wanted them as our venue. Mrs. Anna, Mr. Jim, and Mr. Jeremy were great to work with. They listened to our ideas, they bounced ideas back, and made our day a breeze."
